Today the Junior High students are finishing their height and weight data check, and doing a short fitness workout to prepare them for the President's Fitness Challenge.
HS Personal Fitness class is going to do a 10 minute cardiovascular workout on the track, and then go to the weight room for some weight lifting and strength training.
NEW PE Clothing Policy
Since we are now using "standards based" PE grading, and no longer doing a daily participation grade, we will not be grading whether the students bring their clothes or not.
However, because of this we want to ensure that students are bringing PE clothes for PE class. It's a simple matter of hygeine. We don't want kids to have to get their school clothes all sweaty and dirty, and then we also don't want them to have to wear those same clothes the rest of the day.
So, to ensure that the students are changing for Physical Education classes, this will be the new policy. Students who forget to change clothes twice in a row will be given a detention(either for that day or the following day, student's choice). The student will be sent to the office to call home and inform their parent of the impending detention, and why they have to serve it, this will happen before they join the rest of their classmates for PE class that day.
