Hobo Day Edition

Tomorrow marks the 100th anniversary of Hobo Day at SDSU in Brookings, SD.

I have many fond memories of Hobo Day over the years.  I remember attending as a child and watching the parade with my parents.

I remember marching in the parade in HS band, and then we'd always get to watch the rest of the parade.  Always enjoyed the shenanigans of the "Hobos" who would be in the parade.

When I was in college, I was a Hobo for a few years.  It was pretty fun.

Not sure what # of Hobo Day this is for me, but I'll be there this Saturday.  First for the parade, then we'll proceed to the Tailgate and do some grilling, and go to the game.

SDSU faces a very good Youngstown State team this year, so hopefully the game will be entertaining.

Go Big.  Go Blue.  Go Jacks.

Health Classes this week started Chapter 7, which was on "Preventing Violence".  A very informational and good subject matter for our young people to be exposed to.

This weekend marks the 99th Annual Hobo Day in Brookings, SD.  I will be attending with my family.
We usually make a full day out of it, starting with running in the Bob Bartling Hobo Day 5K run in the morning. Then, we run back to my parentsto change and head back to the Hobo Day Parade.  After the parade, we will have lunch and then attend the game.  This year's opponent is the So. Illinois Salukis.

Hoping for a Victory for the Jackrabbits.

Also this weekend, my favorite NFL squad the San Diego Chargers, take on the favorite team of my Father, and two of my sons, the Green Bay Packers.  I'm not expecting a very good game from my end of things.

Congrats to the Chamberlain CC teams yesterday.  Girls Varsity and Boys Junior Varsity each won their divisions.  Superb performances in poor weather conditions.

This weekend my South Dakota State Jackrabbits travel to Cal Poly.
For those unfamiliar with that school, here is the link to their website.
In addition to being an outstanding university, Cal Poly usually fields an excellent football team.

I took the week off after the Sioux Falls Half Marathon last weekend, but I do plan to start running again on Sunday.  One race left this calendar year:  The Hobo Day 5K in Brookings.
