Health Journal: Sept. 22nd

"How will I make myself remember the the Health test next Wednesday?"

We will have our test over Chapter 3 next Wednesday.

Students will receive study guides today, and will have study hall on Friday.  With no school, on Monday I pushed back starting the new Unit until the following week.

High School Personal Fitness: Soccer

High School Personal Fitness class went outside and played soccer today for their "activity" day.

Awesome Job guys!  Best played game of soccer I've seen in PE, since moving up to the HS/MS 4 years ago.

It was a pleasure to watch.  Great Job Everyone!

Line Soccer indoors today.

Because of all the wet weather the last couple days, we have been forced into the gym today, to play "line soccer".

Kind of a bummer, because some of the students brought spikes and shin guards to play outside today.

Oh well, can't control mother nature.

Forms for school pictures are going home with 7th hour students today.

Picture Day for the Middle School will be Thursday, Sept. 23rd.

Picture Day for the High School will be Friday, Sept. 24th.

Breaking Down the Chapter 2 Test Scores

Nearly all of the Chapter 2 Tests are in.  (Just a few to take make-up for being absent)

Here's a quick breakdown of the classes, and how they did on the test

1st 7th grade class avg  86.41%
2nd 8th grade class avg  85.56%
3rd 9th grade class avg  80.83%
7th  7th grade class avg  78.97%

1st and 2nd periods did well overall, but I'd like to see 3rd period and 7th period improve.

We had 5 Total Students score 100% on their first test of the year, which is great.

New Chapter(3): Managing Stress

Health students today will start Chapter 3, which is on managing stress.

Parents and Students could talk about things that cause stress in their lives, and things they can do to help relieve it.

First Test this week.

Health Class will have their first test, over Chapter Two, on Friday.

We will have a Chapter Review Day in Health Class on Wednesday.

Students will also be finishing the President's Physical Fitness Challenge by running the mile run this week, and starting their soccer unit in PE.
